Businesses across the Malvern Hills District will have the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of social media at an upcoming event near Tenbury. Malvern Hills District Council and Community First have joined forces with Esther Partridge-Warner from Online Media Works for a session on Friday, 1 July from 1pm to 3.30pm at Lindridge Village Office.
The session will cover why social media is good for business, top tips to boost online presence and making the most of LinkedIn. As well as this, award-winning outdoor leisure company OLPRO will be explaining how they use social media to boost their business. Esther’s mission is to help people who didn’t grow up with smartphones to become experts at managing social media in their businesses.
It will be held in-person at Lindridge Village Office which is based at Lindridge Parish Hall near Tenbury. The Village Office provides a space where people can come together to work, study, hold meetings and more, to encourage networking and prevent loneliness and isolation. The large space includes a workstation for people to bring their laptops, a social space, a photocopier, printer, Wi-Fi and tea and coffee facilities. There is also high-quality audio-visual equipment available for video conferencing.
Esther Partridge-Warner from Online Media Works said: “Social media is so ingrained into everyday life that it is so important to understand how it works and how it can benefit you. Keeping up with the latest trends, creating engaging content and learning about the different social media platforms can all help when developing a successful business. Richard Timney, Village Hall Advisor for Community First, said: “Village halls are the corner stone of many rural communities. As homeworking becomes more prevalent people from rural villages are at risk of losing some social connections and can become more isolated. We think that, by visiting a local office occasionally, homeworkers will get the chance to build local connections, share experiences and learn from others. Learning about social media in a group like this is a great example.”

The Village Office in Lindridge is the perfect location to host this event as it will be an opportunity to see the facilities they have on offer and to network with others”.
There will be a Q&A session at the end and there will be refreshments available.
