At around a 30-minute drive from Worcester or Malvern, the entrance to the National Trust’s Brockhampton estate will greet you with incredible views across Herefordshire’s countryside leading you along a picturesque lane to your fun-filled family day out. At the heart of the landscape, you’ll find a romantic medieval manor house, surrounded by orchards and so much for the family to explore and enjoy.
There’s accessible hard-standing paths winding through the landscape, animal sculptures to find, natural play zones with tunnels, stepping stones and more, as well as balance bikes for little ones to borrow, Brockhampton is a great place to immerse the family in nature with uninterrupted views and plenty of space to run. There’s even a ‘Hereford Bull’ trow boat, in the orchards awaiting its latest crew for a make-believe adventure as they pretend to transport apples across the country.
You can also try the hidden world of the hedgerow children’s activity sheet and summer trail as the kids immerse themselves in nature, looking out for some of the friendly creatures who call the hedgerow their home. £3 per trail (normal admission applies).
Bethan Martin, Site Manager at Brockhampton said “Brockhampton is an ideal place to meet up with friends and family during the summer holidays. The hard-standing paths mean that getting into and exploring the family-friendly natural play areas with pushchairs and wheelchairs makes an accessible adventure for the whole family. You’ll find hammocks to swing in and perfect picnic spots for a relaxed lunch too! All in the most picturesque surroundings.”
Explore the medieval manor house, orchards, parkland and all the natural play zones included in admission to Brockhampton. The hidden world of the hedgerow trail runs from Saturday 20 July to Sunday 2 September. Trails cost £3 each and include an activity sheet, colouring pencils, and a prize (normal admission applies).
