For just £1 residents and visitors will soon have access to a new discount book containing hundreds of vouchers to spend on high streets across the district.
The District Discount Book is a new initiative created by the Upton News and supported by Malvern Hills District Council.
It aims to generate footfall and new sales for local businesses within the district.
Booklets will be on sale from Saturday, 1 April 2023 in local shops, online and in community venues, for just £1.
Over 200 local businesses have signed up to feature their vouchers and discounts in 5000 booklets.
Offers and discounts include 20% off selected shows at Malvern Theatres, free glass of wine when you spend £10 on an evening meal at the Boathouse in Upton upon Severn, 10% off To Boot in Great Malvern, and many more.
Rebecca Probert, Town Centre Support Officer at Malvern Hills District Council said: “This scheme offers businesses a cost-effective way to advertise to a large audience over a long period, as well as providing local people with fantastic deals to spend on our high street. It has been great working with Annette who has worked extremely hard to get local businesses on board and create this brand-new initiative”.
Annette Keyworth, from Upton News said: “If you are part of a local group, you can sell the books either with an online code or directly with stock. This is great for members and all the businesses featured. We split the income from book sales 50/50, so this can be part of your fundraising strategy. Individuals, businesses, community groups and organisations as well as schools can sell the books.”
