Two great rivers, the Severn and the Teme, weave their way through The Malverns countryside.

Upton upon Severn
The Kings Head, Upton upon Severn
A riverside town needs a riverside pub, and The Kings Head takes this spot gladly in Upton upon Severn. Sitting right on the banks of the Severn The Kings Head has plenty of outdoor seating giving it a nautical feel. Indeed, many happy hours can be spent in the beer garden simply watching the boats putter up and down the Severn with a cold pint in hand.
The Plough Inn, Upton upon Severn
With a big focus on live music this popular pub also offers lovely views from Upton over The Severn, creating a fantastic friendly atmosphere. Bands regularly play in the riverfront seating area and the pub is dog friendly, so it’s perfect for your post walk refuel.

The Bridge Inn, Tenbury Wells – River Teme
Situated in the heart of the market town of Tenbury Wells, The Bridge Inn is a contemporary pub offering a relaxed atmosphere along with a British twist on American dining. The pub has multiple screens showing all the action from the Premier League, Champions League and all other live sporting events.

The Riverside Inn – River Severn
Doing a roaring trade since at least the 1800’s, pick up a map for a walk along the river through idyllic countryside after your stop at The Riverside Inn. This area of the river is teeming with with birdlife who provide entertainment as you dine on their artisanal and locally sourced menu. Make a weekend out of your visit to take in the all the fishing, history and tranquillity of the countryside and stay in one of The Riverside Inn’s recently redecorated rooms – many of which have river views.
The Holt Fleet – River Severn
Just across the river from The Wharf Inn, The Holt fleet has a reputation for its fantastic food served in generous portions. Nab one of the picnic benches on the lovely green lawn and take in the river; or for an upgraded experience book one of their luxury river pods and dine in all weather comfort. Don’t forget the desert menu, their ice-cream sundaes come highly recommended.
The Camp House Inn – River Severn
The view from this picturesque, historic inn is second to none – a glistening river surrounded by lush green trees with hardly a car or supermarket in sight. Accessed down a winding track and a little tricky to find, you are rewarded with a traditional picture perfect pub with a pretty garden and excellent riverside views. So tucked away and tranquil this little piece of England is worth the trip. Perfectly placed for walkers, rest your feet waterside accompanied by the wildflowers and resident friendly ducks, geese and peacocks. With a loyal following this gem has its quirks, please note they operate cash only.
The Wharf Inn – River Severn
This pub has a camp site, moorings for boats and pegs for river fishing making it the perfect spot for outdoorsy types. There’s a lovely terrace on the back with uninterrupted river vistas, foodies are catered for with local meats on offer as well as tapas style starters and a street food menu.
The Talbot at Knightwick – River Teme
With an onsite brewery and lovely rooms above this 14th century pub overlooks the River Teme. The Talbot have a knack for making things from scratch from their in-house blended coffee, freshly baked bread to homemade black pudding and pickles. They also stock a great many locally produced foods and drinks. The large, mature garden is green and leafy and the pub is situated perfectly on the Worcestershire Way for keen long distance walkers.
The Hampstall Inn, Astley – River Severn
A quaint country pub set on the banks of the River Severn. Perfect for families, walkers and nature seekers. Dog friendly and ample parking for cars and river craft. A selection of Real Ales and a well stocked bar. Fantastic home cooked food available.
The Bridge at Stanford – River Teme
Beautifully placed on the banks of the River Teme this warm and welcoming pub is the perfect start or end point for a walk around the beautiful Teme Valley. Serving over 20 different real ales including local Wye Valley Herefordshire pale ale as well as traditional home cooked food, pop in for their popular Sunday carvery with melt-in-the-mouth ham. During the week they offer 3 courses for £10 for lunch with such generous potions it will fill you up all day.
The Seabourne Inn, Kempsey – River Severn
