It’s not just holidaymakers that are attracted to The Malverns; over the past few months lots of new and exciting businesses have been opening their doors across our district. Our towns, Tenbury Wells, Malvern and Upton upon Severn, were already overflowing with independent businesses and fantastic cuisines but now there’s even more to explore with a new health food shop, Japanese menu and bookshop.

The Malverns is positively brimming with new activities, shops and eateries with more exiting plans unfolding over the next few months – see all this, as well as your longstanding favourites, on your next visit.

Little Olives Play Café – Great Malvern

Opening in the building that was once known to locals as Oliver’s Bar, Little Olives Play Café is soon to open on Belle Vue Terrace. The similar name is where the similarities to the old Oliver’s ends. Little Olives will be a play modern play café including a soft play, role play village and sensory nest. Adults are not forgotten and the space will also be a comfortable café with full food and drinks menu available thorough the day. The space is currently undergoing some renovations and plans to open early May 2025.

Malvern Hills Vintage – Great Malvern

Taking over the building that used to house Iapetus Gallery is a new antiques shop, Malvern Hills Vintage. The antiques shop will be run by Lee Hammond who has been an established dealer for over 20 years. Great Malvern was previously an established area for antiques until some of the longstanding businesses closed down. This new shop aims to bring this back to Malvern and introduce a new generation to using antiques.

Age UK – Barnards Green

The newly branded Wyvern Age UK has opened it’s new charity shop in Barnards Green. The new shop is located at 93-95 Barnards green Road Malvern and stocks a great selection of second hand clothing, homeware, books, furniture and more. Shop guilt free knowing that every purchase helps improve the lives of older people across Herefordshire & South Worcestershire!

Aetheria Gallery & Studio – Great Malvern

An eclectic art gallery and exhibition space has opened in the old Amnesty bookshop on Edith Walk. The studio will showcases the diverse and unique works of local artists as well as offering curatorial services and workshops.

New hair salon and beauty specialists have opened in Barnards Green offering sunbeds, hair, beauty, massage, podiatry and aesthetics.

Bear Ink Studio has recently opened located in the heart of Tenbury Wells on Teme Street combining artistic passion with a commitment to quality.

The Old Hunting Lodge at The Talbot

Keep an eye out for the re-opening of this historic pub this under a slightly different name, The Old Hunting Lodge. The café/ bar opened on 12 October 2024 with a free hog roast. The fine dining restaurant and hotel will be opening later as it is currently undergoing renovations.
