Event Description
Free event (normal admission fee applies), but booking is essential – visit the National Trust website to book.
What better way to start the festive season and get into the Christmas swing than to celebrate with a concert featuring a wide range of music by Elgar at The Firs – Elgar’s Birthplace?
Once again our resident cellist Corinne Frost, with pianist Janine Parsons, will be performing the music and our expert Richard Westwood-Brookes will be providing an introduction and commentary to the music, describing how each piece fitted into Elgar’s life.
The concert, sponsored by the Elgar Society, will be free to National Trust members (normal non-member entrance fees apply), and will feature a number of well known Elgar pieces, including ‘Nimrod’, but also a few less familiar works.
