Event Description

Armonico Consort & Baroque Orchestra, directed by Christopher Monks, present Israel in Egypt. This is without a doubt Handel’s most spectacular choral showpiece and is almost certainly the most dramatic choral writing form the 18th century. Biblically epic, it includes graphic musical renderings of flies, frogs, hailstones, the river Nile turning to blood, and the parting of the Red Sea. For those who love the lyrical and ornate choruses of Messiah and Dixit Dominus, this is an unmissable concert, with solos sung by the brilliant critically acclaimed 5* award singers of Armonico Consort.
