Elgar: A Piano Portrait celebrates the life and works of Sir Edward Elgar, one of Britain’s most esteemed composers.
Embark on a harmonious journey through Elgar’s career. Savour some of Elgar’s lesser-known piano works, alongside pieces from Brahms, Coleridge-Taylor, Gershwin and Messiaen.
Through this programme, the audience will discover the relationships and context of different eras and compositional styles.
Myles Manders-Young is an English classical pianist based in Birmingham. He has received Third Prize at the Thailand 7th International Chopin Piano Competition, and a Gold Prize at the 4th Bangkok International Piano Competition.
Having first performed here last year, Myles is excited to return to The Firs and bring his passion for promoting the music of Elgar and classical music back to Elgar’s Birthplace.
