Event Description

Community Clothesline is part of the FEAST Theatre Festival 2024 and is created by the FEAST Theatre Festival and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

Join us in a free multi-generational and cross border event, sewing together the stories of all our lives within the community.

Three sewing workshops will pop up at the Malvern Cube bringing people together to share their stories.

Bring an item of clothing that has a personal history or meaning to you. A pair of socks? Shoes, Jumper, trousers, dress etc…. Anything that inspires a story of what they mean to you and when you were wearing them.

You will be invited to sew or embroider words or elements of your story directly onto the clothing, or simply write your story out on paper/labels. Each garment has a story to tell, and we’d love to share it!

You are invited to drink tea, eat biscuits, and make friends.

The project will lead to a weeklong supervised, indoor installation in the courtyard of the OCC (Old Con Club) in Great Malvern town centre. The installation will lead up to and run throughout the FEAST Theatre Festival.

Your stories, with their clothes, will be hung as a public celebration and evocation of our past and present lives from near and far.

All clothing will be labelled and given back at the end of the project.
