Roll up, roll up as Christmas comes to Malvern!
The festive season begins in Malvern on 23 November with various activities and events taking place. Immerse yourself in the festivities including Christmas markets, circus-themed window display trail and don’t forget to be there for the switching on of Great Malvern’s Christmas lights.
Come along on 23 November to join in the festive fun. The event has been scaled back slightly due to the weather conditions, but don’t worry – there will still be plenty on offer.
The Great Malvern Lights Switch On will see Great Malvern’s Christmas lights turned on at 5.30pm from Belle Vue Island with guest appearances from Mark James, Ellie Dadd & Phillip Arran. This will follow the annual Christmas parade at 5.15pm, which will start at the bottom of Church Street. There is no entry fee to the event in general but some elements will attract a charge.
Events at Malvern Library:
10am – 4pm: Mini market in the Book & Cup Cafe
10am – 4pm: Balloon modelling
10am – 4.30pm (last entry 3.30pm): Santa’s Grotto (£3.50 per child)
10.30am – 3.30pm: Arts and crafts workshops
11am: Storytime with the Mayor
Plus live performances throughout the day
Events at the Coach House Theatre:
10am – 4pm: Mini market stalls
From 10.30am: Hoopla
10.30am – 11.30am: Workshops with Mark from Solo Circus
1pm & 2.45pm: School of Larks performance and workshops (tickets £5 per family of up to two adults and three children; walk-ins available)
4.15pm – 4.45pm: Performance by Mark from Solo Circus
Event in Abbey Road (outside Great Malvern Post Office):
12pm – 6pm: There will be food outlets located outside the Post Office on Abbey Road with Hillbilly’s, Blazing Burkies Pizza and Counter Coffee.
Event at the Theatre of Small Convenience, Edith Walk:
Throughout the day: Missing Cat! Have you seen or heard TOSCA the tiger? He escaped his cage which is situated at the Theatre of Small Convenience on Edith Walk. Can you help us find him? (Don’t worry – he’s not a real tiger!)
Other Christmas events in Malvern over the coming days include Christmas in the Link on Friday 29 November (3.30pm – 6.30pm, with lights switched on at 6pm) and Great Malvern Christmas Market on Saturday 30 November (10am – 6pm).
