Event Description
A morning circular ramble, back in time for lunch. From the railway station we meander through the streets of Ledbury before a 100 metre ascent through the woods & farmland to reach a panoramic view of Eastnor Castle, the Obelisk and the line of the Malvern Hills. We follow a farm track downhill to the red sandstone church of St. John the Baptist in Eastnor before striking out on a bridleway soon passing Eastnor Pottery and a gentle wander through fields and woods to join a stony track before reaching the road back into Ledbury. Whilst there are no stiles to cross there is a fairly steep ascent through the woods at the start to get from the Ledbury town centre to the panoramic view point at 170 metres. Stout shoes are necessary as some of the terrain is stony in places.
